The Smoky Extravagant Shooting

I will always have wonderful memories of this shoot, the people involved, and the creative process behind making the film.

The MAKE UP FOR EVER team was truly amazing and open to experimentation on a visual and emotional scale, not something you get to see every day in advertising.

We knew early on that the schedule and weather would be tough on everyone. We spent a few hours in the snow, which proved to be both visually stunning and physically challenging.

We also knew we needed the audience to connect on an emotional level so we chose the keep the film grounded in reality. We did this by shooting with a mixture of RED Epic camera for the core visuals and 8mm film for an authentic, organic look to contrast with the flawless definition of the digital material. Again, very rare and playful for a brand of such calibre.

Our model Edita gave an incredible performance, giving very deeply of herself to the characterm despite the cold, the snow, and all the down time we usually have on a typical shoot.

Looking back, I enjoyed every moment and am very proud of the finished product, a real creative collaboration with people fueled by passion.
