A COLORFUL INAUGURATION IN BELGIUM
Brussels, Belgium: On Thursday, June 28th, 2012, MAKE UP FOR EVER celebrated the opening of its second boutique in Belgium, located in the heart of Brussels, only steps away from the MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMY. In line with the codes of the historic MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutique located rue la Boétie in Paris, this new boutique embodies the brand’s spirit in every way. Gray brick walls, Wenge elements, wooden floors and metallic structures come together to create a true “Backstage” universe where the star of the show remains the products.
This new 80m2 space encapsulates the artistic expertise of MAKE UP FOR EVER: among them, the brand’s iconic products such as its collection of brushes, complexion and lip products, false eyelashes, and its renowned eye shadow palettes. A section of the space is dedicated to the artistic and special effects products, much to the delight of Belgium’s professional make-up artists. The boutique also houses a Make Up School, allowing all make-up addicts to discover and perfect professional techniques of the art of make-up through the large selection of services available.
For the opening of this boutique, a warm and convivial space welcomed professional make-up artists, journalists and bloggers, offering the kind of event that only MAKE UP FOR EVER knows how to throw. A large catwalk was erected on the Rue du Mont des Arts, grabbing the attention of all of those lucky enough to be passing by. Guests were able to admire the spectacular MAKE UP FOR EVER Fall/Winter collection “Black Tango” in the presence of Dany Sanz - Creator & Artistic Director of MAKE UP FOR EVER, Véronique Angelino-Pegum - Director, Worldwide MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMIES, Antonella Podence - Innovation & Learning Director, Worldwide MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMIES, Juan Carlos Salazar - Director of the Brussels MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMY and Ria Nijssen - Director of the Brussels MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutique.
The multiple facets of the make-up professions were on display thanks to the exceptional creations of Special Effects and Face & Body Painting by Daisy Van Winkel, Michael Loncin and Squidlab (Erwan Simon & Daphné Beaulieux). The fashion creations of the famous Belgian creators Debora Velasquez and Jean-Pol Fontesse walked the runway, sublimated by the make-up artists of the MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMY, followed by a performance by the group Supremacy, choreographed by Antonio Naso and Bruno De Rouck. The evening ended to the sounds of the DJ, leaving the Brussels’ air buzzing with excitement and reminding those within earshot that life is an eternal show with MAKE UP FOR EVER.
