An iconic boutique gets a makeover

On November 7th, MAKE UP FOR EVER celebrated the reopening of its iconic boutique 5 rue de la Boétie in Paris, revealing the completely redesigned space dedicated to the art of makeup, inspired by the cinema, stage and theater “backstage” world.
When the shop first opened in 1984, Dany SANZ and Jacques WANEPH (her husband) gathered many professional makeup artists transforming the place into a professional makeup Mecca.

The flagship has been thought out in the slightest details so that guests can make the most of the wide variety of shades and products available, amble more freely thought the ameliorated space, increasing the interaction between the staff and the guests.
Attention has been paid to the different zones of the boutique, with products for the complexion on the left, color products on the right, tools in the center and different MUSTs scattered about, showcasing limited edition looks, new launches and other star products such as the HD range.
And like each new product, each piece of furniture is a custom-made, MAKE UP FOR EVER creation. From the 3D brick wall, to the inventive display racks, every piece fits perfectly into the new space.

However, the boutique is also a pro friendly place as the brand has installed the Pro Atelier at the back of the store, a few steps away from Dany’s office and the creation lab.
This space allows special guests to reserve a peaceful work area complete with wifi, a work table and one of each of the brands products displayed. A makeup artist may choose to come accompanied by a designer or model to do test shots, discuss and make orders directly in this space with a MAKE UP FOR EVER representative.

A “beautification” that has given the original and iconic boutique what it needed to continue to be an international pro and artistic makeup Mecca for all makeup enthusiasts around the world.

FOR THE HISTORY :
In 1984 this very Boutique was the only place that makeup artists could find such an incredible variety of products, some of which were not available anywhere else: Star Powders, Pure Pigments, Glitters and Lipstick Palettes to name a few, all of which were hand filled in the cellar of the boutique.
From the start MAKE UP FOR EVER was a team effort. Each product was filled by hand by a member of Dany’s tribe (close friends, students and family members). At the time of its inauguration, Dany Sanz knew she was opening a one-of-a kind store and a place for both her students, her colleagues and her friends, but she never could have imagined that it would still be there 27 years later.
