Dracula, the results!

For French Artistic Director and Choreographer Kamel OUALI’s next musical, “Dracula – L’amour plus fort que la Mort” (“Dracula - Love stronger than Death”), MAKE UP FOR EVER and BRAM Productions teamed up to organize an international makeup competition to find a head makeup artist for the show. This contest was open to all makeup artists, both amateur and professional, as well as to anyone who has a passion for makeup artistry.

684 «artists » from 36 different countries and more than 400,000 people logged onto the official website www.draculalespectacle.com/concours to discover this unusual, never-before-seen contest.

The Dracula and MAKE UP FOR EVER adventure reached its climax on January 10 th, 2011 when the 11 finalists were invited to the emblematic MAKE UP FOR EVER boutique on Rue la Boétie in Paris in order to present two new creations each around the “Dracula” theme. The candidates were then asked to present and explain their choices in front of the jury made up of none other than Kamel OUALI, Dany SANZ, Dominique BORG (Costume Director) and the producer of the musical.

After numerous hours of deliberation the jury surprised everyone by announcing not one- but two head makeup artists: Maïte GUITTEREZ (Spain) and Déborah MORENO (France).
