1 / BEAUTY and FASHION INTERMEDIATE

Program
This course teaches fundamental Beauty/Fashion make-up techniques by combining essential theoretical principles with practical applications, all while providing information on the latest trends. It will provide information on specific professional techniques and build a strong understanding in beauty and fashion makeup. The objectives of this course are to provide the student with an understanding of the requirements of fashion, photographic makeup, and beauty makeup for: Bridal, Mature skin, Day and evening, as well as Media (print and online) makeup needs. It will also teach an overview of historic, or “retrospective” makeup, and how “old fashioned looks” influence our contemporary vision. Products provided at the Academy, must bring own brushes and supplies.
- Essential skin concepts
- Morphological studies of difference faces
- Colorimetric
- Shading techniques, light and shadow techniques
- Corrective make-up techniques (concealing scars etc.)
- Make-up: from the most natural to the most sophisticated
- Make-up for mature skin, bridal make-up, ethnic make-up
- Advice for adapting all these techniques to different professional contexts, given in each demonstration throughout the program

Program
This course will provide information on specific professional techniques about designing and creating fashion and photographic images and carrying out a full makeup application using primers, foundations, and concealers, contouring techniques, powders, blush, eyebrows, eye makeup, and lipsticks. The course will teach how to evaluate the concepts of beauty and fashion. It will also teach a series of eye makeup techniques, including textures and finishes, and how to contour several eye shapes. The student will also be coached on how to create various make-up designs for a high fashion shoot or an Avant-garde runway show. Products provided at the Academy, must bring own brushes and supplies.

Pre-requisite: Beauty and Fashion Intermediate or at least 1 year prior makeup experience.

This course will enable students to develop strong background on corrective theory. Students will learn correcting and camouflaging techniques for imperfections, such as spots and dark circles, as well as contouring effects, highlighting, and shading. It will teach an understanding of the facial anatomy using the principles of light and shade to create three-dimensional illusory effects. The course will cover the fundamentals of applying and blending eye makeup, eyeliners, eyebrow shaping, and the application of false eyelashes. Products provided at the Academy, must bring own brushes and supplies.

5 / STAGE AND ARTISTIC

This training course teaches basic face Painting techniques and how to create complete imaginary characters.

This training course is intended to professional or amateur Makeup Artists who must have previously taken the week-long Face Painting course.

This program  will cover all aspects of fashion, beauty, product awareness, hygiene, tools of the trade, skin analysis, face shapes, skin color, eyebrow shaping, color correcting (understanding the color wheel) and highlighting. It will then review the historical “golden era” of vintage Hollywood dating back to the 1930s, 40s and 50s. A basic understanding of these poignant glamour styles of make up is vital for building the foundation of any modern make up artist. The architectural sculpted face, arched expressive brow, perfect smoky eyes, and sharp painted lip are all key focuses. This module will highlight the drama and glamour of an era of decadence.

This program is tailored for students desiring to work in the television and film industries as a make up artist. The student will develop technical application and professional skills alongside creative and conceptual initiatives. This level will emphasize the fundamental elements of special effects make up: basic prosthetics, creation of simulated injuries and aging make up, facial hair, bald cap and airbrush application.
Prerequisite: Beauty & Fashion.
