This course teaches fundamental Beauty/Fashion make-up techniques by combining essential theoretical principles with practical applications, all while providing information on the latest trends. It will provide information on specific professional techniques and build a strong understanding in beauty and fashion makeup. The objectives of this course are to provide the student with an understanding of the requirements of fashion, photographic makeup, and beauty makeup for: Bridal, Mature skin, Day and evening, as well as Media (print and online) makeup needs. It will also teach an overview of historic, or “retrospective” makeup, and how “old fashioned looks” influence our contemporary vision. Products provided at the Academy, must bring own brushes and supplies.
- Essential skin concepts
- Morphological studies of difference faces
- Shading techniques, light and shadow techniques
- Corrective make-up techniques (concealing scars etc.)
- Make-up: from the most natural to the most sophisticated
- Make-up for mature skin, bridal make-up, ethnic make-up
- Advice for adapting all these techniques to different professional contexts, given in each demonstration throughout the program
This course is intended for professional beauticians and hairstylists, or anyone else seeking to learn fundamental make-up techniques.
