Our Tools, Your Rules - Charlot

Mel Charlot is a passionate teacher, choreographer and creative director originally from Montreal, Canada. Known in the dance community as Charlot (charlô), this French-Canadian born artist has inspired dancers from Canada to the U.S.; Scotland, Argentina, the UK and many more. You can find Charlot teaching in many cities across the US at The Monsters-A-List Convention, and as a guest teacher at top LA dance studios such as Millenium Dance Complex, Movement Lifestyle and Debbie Reynolds Legacy.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Charlot continues to make her mark with her laughter, groove, creativity and serious spunkiness. She’s showcased her infectious charisma performing on morning shows, the Broadway stage ( Holler If Ya Hear Me; A musical inspired by the lyrics of Tupac Shakur) and in national ad campaigns (L’Oreal, Amla Oil, MAKE UP FOR EVER...).

As a director, her vision shines in everything from dazzling live TVproduction numbers to a poignant digital short for Black History month. She empowers emerging talent through her roles in artist development, movement coaching and as a judge on well renowned dance competitions such as; World of Dance, Hit The Floor...

Charlot has had the opportunity to work alongside reputable artists for tours, galas, music videos and more; such as choreographers Luam Keflezgy, Chonique and Lisette, Tanisha Scott, Luther Brown...

She also works alongside top choreographer and artistic director Rhapsody James as the Dance and Program Assistant for Motivating Excellence; a professional training program for commercial dancers.

Mel Charlot is simply destined to follow God’s plan for her as she inspires and mentors others along the way!
