Body Art & Fashion Show - JC de Castelbajac

To celebrate its 30 years anniversary MAKE UP FOR EVER teamed up with six fashion designers to recreate six dresses with makeup on the body.

Each designer (Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Kenzo, Emilio Pucci, Shiatzy Chen, Valentin Yudashkin and Zuhair Murad) was selected by Dany Sanz  - Artist Director and founder of MAKE UP FOR EVER to create together an inspired piece of art that represents her artistic world. Whether surreal, exotic, baroque or tribal, each painting combines makeup with the dresses in a deft demonstration of artistic skill. Learn more about the work of the twelve makeup artists working on the body painting and discover the pictures of the dresses and the bodies.

The two makeup artists responsible for the creation of the body painting tell us their work:

“Our approach was to immerse ourselves in the colorful universe of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. By combining the illusion of makeup and the reality of his design, we tried to put ourselves in the designer’s mind to create the body painting. Our trompe-l’oeil consists mainly of Wet Make-up and a blend of Color Cream. To give the illusion of the movement of fabric on the body we used Kohl Pencil in white. We used different shades of eye shadows to create the shading at the seams.”

Makeup artists: Andrée-Line Dumont & Mathilde Aupetit
