Body Art & Fashion Show - Valentin Yudashkin

To celebrate its 30 years anniversary MAKE UP FOR EVER teamed up with six fashion designers to recreate six dresses with makeup on the body.

Each designer (Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Kenzo, Emilio Pucci, Shiatzy Chen, Valentin Yudashkin and Zuhair Murad) was selected by Dany Sanz  - Artist Director and founder of MAKE UP FOR EVER to create together an inspired piece of art that represents her artistic world. Whether surreal, exotic, baroque or tribal, each painting combines makeup with the dresses in a deft demonstration of artistic skill. Learn more about the work of the twelve makeup artists working on the body painting and discover the pictures of the dresses and the bodies.

The two makeup artists responsible for the creation of the body painting tell us more about their work:

“The Art of Illusion” is a display of art and outdoing oneself. Its success is highly dependent on the trust developed with the different artists on the project. Valentin Yudashkin’s dress featured a lamé effect and a pencil cut. These two aspects constituted our main creative and technical challenge. We had to recreate the lamé and metal effect of the dress using a mixture of Metal Powder and Diamond Powder. We then applied the powders to the body with the waterproof liquid converter Aqua Seal.”

Makeup Artists: Ludovic Lasson & Leslie Arsigny
