Chocker necklaces, fishnets tights, cropped tops … The Nineties are back! This season, to be totally fashionable, we resurrect teenage accessories from our closets. Who would have thought? For makeup, this winter signs the comeback of nude and luminous lips. And many celebrities get it right: they wear MAKE UP FOR EVER’s iconic lipstick ARTIST ROUGE in (C211) Rose Wood - a universal nude which has been one of the brand’s must-have shades since its creation in the grungy 1990.

After 10 years of excesses, the Nineties were defined by minimalism. Abusive colors, seen as inelegant, gave way to neutral shades. No makeup was the rule! But, at that time, finding the perfect nude lipstick was a real mission: all natural lipsticks were drab, tasteless.

“A good nude lipstick has to be neither too red nor too orange, neither too warm nor too cold. Above all, black pigments must be avoided to ensure a healthy glow effect, that is very difficult in terms of formula. The shade has to be lively” explains Dany Sanz, Founder and Artistic Director of MAKE UP FOR EVER. It was a real challenge but Dany made it: the T02, former rose wood ARTIST ROUGE CRÈME, a luminous lipstick that fitted everyone. The success was immediate: supermodels and makeup enthousiasts became obsessed with it. Since then, the lipstick formula has been constantly improved and plays a new role on stage today with the ARTIST franchise. Will our favorite lipstick be yours?
