ULTRA HD on set

At La Cité du Cinéma, MAKE UP FOR EVER has officially proven that the ULTRA HD line is really 4K invisible. And it’s even approved by a Bailiff!

MAKE UP FOR EVER was born from Dany Sanz’s desire to satisfy the needs of all professionals, including the artists on television and film sets who have to create makeup that is invisible to the ever-discerning camera eye. And with the advent of 4K digital in recent years, the level of details that cameras reveal is now four times higher than full HD. This makes the challenge for makeup artists all the more difficult! In light of the new technology, Dany has designed the first 4K compatible formulas, updating the iconic ULTRA HD line, which aim to make the skin look flawless, natural and luminous –but remain completely invisible -- even to a 4K camera.

So, did Dany create magic with this makeup?

This is what MAKE UP FOR EVER wanted to determine at la Cité du Cinéma, the movie temple erected by Luc Besson in Paris. The brand invited three makeup artists from the set to get their endorsement -- all under the supervision of a Bailiff. All three are renowned in the TV & Cinema industry and don’t have to prove their makeup skills anymore: Armel Corre with 30 years of experience, Stéphanie Guillon, Guillaume Canet’s makeup artist and Mariana Padher, who works with Salma Hayek. Here’s what we featured:  ULTRA HD Foundation, Stick Foundation, Loose Powder, Pressed Powder, Concealer, Lip Booster and Skin Booster. With these products, Dany and her team worked their talent on seven models (men and women) to make their complexion appear as natural as possible. And then…Lights… Camera… Action! Every model stood in front of the 4K camera, and proceeded to look left, right, up and down. Behind the screen, the three makeup professionals and the Bailiff observed with rapt attention. With the tension is at a maximum, finally the verdict is read.  And the verdict is unanimous - the model’s faces are smooth, imperfection-free, with an imperceptible coverage.

It’s official - ULTRA HD can be defined as 4K compatible on both men and women, and the Bailiff gave his approval.

It’s a wrap!
