Sylvia Covrig

Sylvia Covrig, make up artist

2003-2004 graduating class

Sylvia is Romanian. She had always wanted to be a make-up artist and a transformer, but there were no schools in Bucharest that offered the kind of training she was looking for.

Her mother, who was a beautician in Paris, told her about the MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMY, which had just opened. She jumped at the chance! She left her job, her studies, and her friends and enrolled in the Academy.

It took only one interview with Lysiane Quema to convince her that this was what she wanted to do. She characterizes her year at the Academy as transformative, like the skill she learned there.

"That year changed my life. That’s what the school does. It teaches you to know who you are, and to go further than you think you can. Every day you feel you are coming close to perfection, and every day you find it slipping away. The teachers are always there to support you, to guide you, and counsel you. I could never have made it without them". Sylvia has remained close to the Academy and to the MAKE UP FOR EVER Tribe.

"After I went back to Bucharest, I would write to Dany and Lysiane, and drop by unannounced whenever I passed through Paris. And then one day, I became a part of it, first as a temporary instructor at the Academy, then as a senior educator in the European division. It has allowed me to bring together my admiration for Dany and my love of MAKE UP FOR EVER, its product line, and the Academy. I always gladly agree when they ask me to give a lecture or a course. Today, I am able to give back some of what they gave me."

Now, Sylvia is Inernational Trainer and works for MAKE UP FOR EVER.
