Transfer Prosthetics Step by Step

Learn how to put transfer prosthetics with Harold Levy, adjunct teacher of the SFX module at the TV & CINEMA Academy.

STEP 1

Put the contact adhesive* with a sponge onto your model’s skin and on your transfer mold.

* Contact adhesive because the 2 surfaces need to be glued and dry separatly before gathering them. Pros-Aide adhesive glue, for example.

STEP 2

Once the surfaces are dry, the glue becomes transparent. You can put your transfer mold over your model’s face.

STEP 3

Take-off your mold carefully with a Q-tip soaked with alcohol not to damage your prosthetics. Dissolve your prosthetics borders with acetone in a single pass to melt the Gladzan.

STEP 4

Paint with Skin Illustrator with brushes or an airbrush to enhance contrast.
