5 lucky Makeup Addicts won our online Makeup Artist contest and found themselves at the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy in Paris. Smoky eyes, anyone?

To celebrate MAKE UP FOR EVER’s 30 Year Anniversary, a Pro Makeup Artist Contest was launched. 7 winners won a spectacular Body Painting week at the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy in Paris.

In parallel to our Pro Makeup Artist Contest, which had pro makeup artists from around the world submitting videos of their face-painted interpretations of iconic figures, we held a contest for our Makeup Addict fans.
What is a Makeup Addict, you might ask? A so-called ‘ordinary’ woman - as if such a thing could ever exist - that is totally crazy about everything to do with makeup and beauty.
Entrants were asked to submit a video in which they applied makeup to themselves. Chosen by a jury that included MAKE UP FOR EVER Founder and Artistic Director Dany Sanz, 5 lucky Makeup Addicts were chosen and won a training week at the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy in Paris.
Three of the winners – Nasreen, Lou, and Myriam - are French, while Clarissa and Janine hail from Mexico and the Philippines respectively. Their enthusiasm is palpable – this is clearly a communal dream come true.
They come from different walks of life - Nasreen is French, studying to be an esthetician and just loves, loves, loves makeup. Clarissa, from Mexico, started out dipping into her mom’s makeup and loved drawing and painting as a kid, all of which she credits for her precision and understanding of makeup. 20 year old Lou is studying for her chemistry engineering degree while Myriam works in a hospital in clinical research (though she originally studied to be an esthetician because she wanted to become a makeup artist). Janine has an online ready-to-wear business and dabbles in makeup artistry on the side.
This week, our Addicts are working on models, which, as they are quick to point out, has nothing to do with applying makeup to your own face. For Lou, this has been her aha moment – MUCH easier to do oneself.
On the Tuesday, the Smoky Eye was queen. Like others, Nasreen has done it before but is stunned by the level of precision at the Academy. It has amped up her technique.  Clarissa feels like she has seen the light with regard to concealer – how has she lived this long without knowing all this?!!
All in all, we can say that our Makeup Addicts have had a wonderful week in Paris at the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy, learning new tricks from the Pros. They will probably go home even more addicted to makeup.
