How do I access my information?

Click "Sign In" at the top right-hand corner of the page and enter your first name, last name, email, and password in the pop-up window that will appear. Select the email newsletters you would like to receive and whether or not you will be registering as a PRO. Then click on "Join". By registering on the site, you will be able to view your order history, rate and review products, and create a personalized list of favorites. For more assistance, please contact our Customer Service.

What should I do if I have forgotten my account password?

Please click on the "Sign In" button at the top right-hand corner of the page, and click on "Help! I forgot my password" in the pop-up window that will appear. You will then be prompted to enter your email address and begin the password recovery process. For more information or help, please contact your local Customer Service.

Can I edit my information?

You can edit your personal and account information as and when you want. Simply "Sign In" to your account at the top right-hand corner of the page and enter your email and password in the pop-up window that will appear. Then click on "My Account" at the top right-hand corner of the page where you will be able to see and edit your personal information.

Do you accept international orders?

What if I place an order and the items is out of stock?

The item will automatically be removed from you order. You will not be charged for this item.

How do I use a promo/coupon code?

To redeem a promo/coupon code, simply enter your code in the text box marked “a promo/coupon code” on the payment options section of the checkout process. Promotional offers with no codes required will be applied to the order if the order meets the requirements of eligibility. When a code is accepted, it will be displayed on the order review/summary page. Important note: One (1) promo/offer code may be used per order. This may include automatic offer codes. Promotional offers and discounts may not be applied to Pro (Backstage Cardholder) orders.

How can I track my order?

If you are a registered user on MAKEUPFOREVER.COM you can track your order. Sign in to the website, click ‘My Account’ then ‘Order History’ and search for your order. After the order has shipped, your tracking number, if available, will be displayed. You may click on the tracking number to view the delivery status of your order via the shipper’s website.

Can I make changes to my order once it has been placed?

Unfortunately, no. Once an order has been placed, and you have received your confirmation email, we are unable to make changes to items on the order or order details. Once an order has begun processing for shipment, any changes must be initiated and facilitated via return or exchange. Please reference our return policy for more information.

What is your return policy??

MAKE UP FOR EVER will gladly exchange or refund any unused or gently used products purchased at full price. Returns/Exchanges must be accompanied by a valid receipt within 30 days of purchase; credits will be issued to the original form of payment. All unused purchases associated with a make up service, or purchased with a discount, are only eligible for an even exchange if accompanied by a valid receipt within 30 days of purchase.

To return/exchange a MAKE UP FOR EVER.COM/US purchase within 30 days of purchase: Please contact us at contact@makeupforeverusa.com or 1-855-575-3820. We will provide you a return authorization number as well as shipping instructions for your return package. Return shipping and handling charges are your responsibility. If you receive products from a MAKEUPFOREVER.COM purchase that are damaged or defective, please refer to the “Damaged or Defective Products” section below..

Please include the return authorization number that we have provided with your return/exchange. We suggest you ship via a traceable service to ensure delivery. Upon acceptance of your return, the price paid for the product will be refunded to the original credit card of payment. Exchanges will be done for the product(s) of your choosing that are of equal value and available on MAKEUPFOREVER.COM. Your original shipping and handling charges will not be refunded.

Products purchased on MAKEUPFOREVER.COM cannot be returned to a MAKE UP FOR EVER boutique or Sephora. All products must be returned to the retailer through which it was purchased.

If an item is purchased at Sephora, please contact Sephora regarding their return policy. If an item is purchased at a MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutique, please call that Boutique directly. A list of stores can be found here.

Damaged and Defective Products

When your MAKEUPFOREVER.COM order arrives, please inspect the package for any damage or defects. It is normal for the shipping package to show some wear, however, if you think a product in your shipment is damaged or defective, please contact us immediately at contact@makeupforeverusa.com or 1-855-575-3820. Please provide the order number along with your email address and phone number for fastest service. To ensure prompt resolution, please keep the original shipping package and the damaged or defective product for inspection. If, after having examined the product, we confirm that it is damaged or defective, we will provide you instructions for returning the damaged or defective product to us at our expense and issue a refund or exchange. Your original shipping and handling charges will not be refunded, however, any replacement for a damaged or defective product will be shipped to you free of charge.

What information can I save in my account?

As a registered user of the website, you can save shipping, billing and credit card information. Credit card numbers are saved via Chase Paymentech (our credit card processing company) and only appear on the site in the form of xxx-xxxx-xxx. You can remove your collected information at any time.

How do I use my Pro discount/Backstage Card on MAKEUPFOREVER.COM?

To receive either your Pro or Industry discount on MAKEUPFOREVER.COM you must have your valid Backstage Card number tied to a MAKEUPFOREVER.COM account and be signed in to the site when placing your order.

If you’re already a Backstage Card Member, please take the following steps to tie your new MAKEUPFOREVER.COM account to your existing Backstage Card account. Click 'Sign In' and register with the same First Name, Last Name, and email address that is tied to your Backstage Card account. Your password will be new. Enter your Backstage Card number in the form field provided and click 'Join'. Your accounts will now be linked together. Now you can shop on the website and receive the discount associated with your level.

If you are not a Backstage Card member, click here to apply for a new Backstage Card. Once approved and assigned a Backstage Card number you will be able to shop online via your Pro account.

Important note: Backstage card users are not eligible to use additional promo/offer codes beyond their discount unless specified.

Does MAKEUPFOREVER.COM have a Maximum Purchase Policy?

Does MAKE UP FOR EVER provide public makeup lessons?

We offer interactive and personalized makeup lessons at MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutiques and Boutiques within Sephora at our Make Up School. Our Make Up Schools utilize a unique teaching concept that helps clients learn application techniques and how to achieve specific looks. For more information Contact Us.

How can I get product samples?

Samples are occasionally available at MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutiques, Sephora stores and Sephora.com. However, we currently do not mail out samples by request. Feel free to visit one of our stores where a makeup artist will be pleased to help you test our products and find what suits you best.

I cannot find my favorite MAKE UP FOR EVER product anymore. Why is that?

We apologize if you are no longer able to find your favorite product. On occasion we have to discontinue products in order to make room for new launches, as well as ensure that our offerings feature the latest ingredients and technology. How can I retail MAKE UP FOR EVER products or become a distributor?

At this time we are not able to sell our products via individual retail partners. MAKE UP FOR EVER products can be found exclusively at MAKEUPFOREVER.COM, Sephora, Sephora inside JC Penny, Sephora.com, and MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutiques. However, please note that we do offer a backstage card program to qualified individuals, where they can receive up to 40% off. Click here to apply for a backstage card. We reserve the right to void any Backstage Card memberships which abuse the discount to resell our products.

If your question concerns a specific product, you have all the ingredients listed on the product packaging.

Do MAKE UP FOR EVER products contain heavy metals?

At MAKE UP FOR EVER, we do not add heavy metals, including lead, to our products. Additionally, trace elements of heavy metals are carefully checked in all raw materials to comply with strict regulations in the country in which they are sold and ensure maximum product safety for consumers.

Is the silica in HD Microfinish Powder dangerous?

MAKE UP FOR EVER'S HD Microfinish Powder utilizes amorphous silica, which does not pose a health risk in regard to makeup application.

Do MAKE UP FOR EVER products contain Parabens?

In 2009, we eliminated the use of parabens in our product formulations. While products launched before that date may contain parabens, all of our new launches are paraben-free. Our HD Foundation range has also been reformulated to eliminate parabens. As we are transitioning from the old formula to the new one, please read the packaging before purchasing the product to ensure you have the new version.

Are MAKE UP FOR EVER products vegan?

Are MAKE UP FOR EVER products gluten free?

The following MAKE UP FOR EVER products may contain gluten, or trace elements of gluten: Plasto Wax, Matte Lip, Mat Velvet+, Lift Concealer, Moisturizing Lip Balm and Duo Mat. To the best of our knowledge, the rest of our products are gluten-free based on the information provided by our raw materials suppliers.

Do MAKE UP FOR EVER products have nuts in them?

The following products may contain nuts: Aqua Liner (Coconut Oil), Camouflage Cream, Eyeliner Cake and Clown White (Hydrogenated Coconut Oil), Concealer Pencil, Lip Liner Pencil, Eye Pencil (Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides).

I am a makeup artist. Is there a MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro membership program and how can I become a member?

Click here to apply for a Backstage Card online, or visit a local MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutique. If registering online, you are required to create a MAKEUPFOREVER.COM account. Check the box 'I don't have a backstage card, then fill in the form fields below it and attach two proofs of profession along with photo identification, and click 'Submit'. You should receive your application approval status, or a request for more information, within 3-5 weeks

Product purchased by Backstage Card Members using the discount benefit are for the cardholders' personal and professional use only and may not be resold under any circumstance. If misuse is suspected, MAKE UP FOR EVER has the right to decline the order and cancel the account.

How long does my membership last and how do I renew it?

The Backstage Card Makeup Artist Discount of 40% is valid for 2 years and can be renewed at the MAKE UP FOR EVER NYC Studio, our Boutiques or online. The Student/Industry Professional Discount of 20% is valid for 1 year. Click here to renew your membership.

What are the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro member benefits?

All Backstage Card members receive a complimentary discount depending on their level of approval and will also receive exclusive pro information about the brand and its pro programs and education. The Backstage Card discount is non-transferable, and all orders placed using the discount must use a credit card in the same name.

If I'm already a Backstage Card member, do I have to register on MAKEUPFOREVER.COM to use my card?

No, you do not have to register on MAKEUPFOREVER.COM to use your Backstage Card at our Boutiques, but you will need to register if you want to rate and review products, create a list of favorites and purchase online with your Pro discount.

If I'm already a Backstage Card member can I link it to my MAKEUPFOREVER.COM account?

Yes, if you are already a Backstage Card Member, please take the following steps to tie your new MAKEUPFOREVER.COM account to your existing Backstage Card account.

Click 'Sign In' and register with the same First Name, Last Name and email address that is tied to your Backstage Card account. Your password will be new. Click the box for 'Register me as a professional'.
Once logged in, enter your Backstage Card number in the form field provided and click 'save'. Your accounts will now be linked together.

I lost my Backstage Card, how do I receive a new one?

We are not sending out physical Backstage Cards at this time. You can shop with your Backstage Card discount by providing your name and Backstage Card number (you will also be asked to show photo ID). If you need your Backstage Card number or expiration date, please email backstagepro@makeupforeverusa.com for assistance.

Where can I use my Backstage Card?

You can use your Backstage Card to purchase on MAKEUPFOREVER.COM. Click here for a link to locations accepting the Backstage Card. Please note, we do not ship orders outside of the United States.

Can I use my Backstage Card internationally?

Backstage Cards issued in the Americas may be valid in select countries worldwide. Discounts may vary. More information can be found on the international version of MAKEUPFOREVER.COM.

What other countries offer the Backstage Card?

Your Backstage Card Professional discount is valid in US and Canada. Select countries such as France may also honor the Backstage Card discount. Each country may be different, so please check with the country you are traveling to for their guidelines.

I am a pro makeup artist and do not live in a country that offers the Backstage Card. Can I benefit from the program? If I visit a MAKE UP FOR EVER boutique is it possible to receive the pro discount?

No, you will need to be a resident in the US or Canada to apply for the Backstage Card Program in US & Canada. The New York Pro Studio may be able to honor a one-time professional discount for you if you visit our New York Pro Studio. Please call 212-941-9337 for details that you will need to bring with you if you are an international artist traveling to NYC.

I currently have a 20% Student/Industry Discount, but am now a working makeup artist. How do I reapply for the 40% Makeup Artist discount?

Academy

How are students selected for the Academy?

All students applying for the long/modular programs will be required to submit a portfolio and participate in an interview with the Academy staff. During the interview, a basic makeup technique demo will be required. Students are accepted into the program based on the results of the interview. All Academy programs are designed to provide comprehensive training, maximize creativity, and reinforce the skills that are required to work at a professional level in today's makeup industry. MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy programs do not require any pre-requisites. In addition to tuition, each student must pay a $100 application fee to apply for any program.

What is the profile of an Academy student?

No previous formal makeup application experience or education is required to participate in the programs offered at the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy; however, students should exhibit a strong connection to the art of makeup and have an interest in professional makeup artistry as a career. The following are ideal characteristics of a MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy student: Artistically inspired with a strong creative intuition, self-motivated and driven to succeed, experienced or interested in the beauty industry, including fields such as cosmetology, esthetics, hairstyling, cosmetic retail or other related industries, background in fine arts, painting, drawing, sculpting, photography and/or other related fields, strong interest in makeup and experience in application.

What certification is delivered at the end of a Long Training program?

Students obtain certificates of completion upon finishing the long program offered at the Academy.

Does the Academy offer financial assistance?

Students are responsible for their own funding. The school does not provide any financial assistance. The Academy is not accredited and cannot accept federal grants, scholarships or loans as tuition payment.

What are the opportunities after a long training program at the Academy?

There are many opportunities for freelancers working in theater, film, editorial, and retail. Career development is incorporated into the program, but no guaranteed job placement is offered.

How can I purchase a gift card?

Gift Cards are currently available only in Make Up For Ever retail boutiques. The Gift Card will be activated in-store at the time of purchase by a Make Up For Ever representative.

What are promotional cards?

Make Up For Ever may issue promotional cards from time to time as a benefit to members of loyalty programs or for other promotional purposes. The front of every promotional card will be marked clearly with the words “Promotional” or “Loyalty Program” and may have shorter expiration periods than a Gift Card, as permitted by law. With the exception of the expiration date, promotional cards are the same as Gift Cards for purposes of redemption, returns and credits, loss, theft and customer service inquiries.

How can I redeem a gift card?

Gift Cards are redeemable only in Make Up For Ever retail boutiques and only for Make Up For Ever products. Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards. Gift Cards are not redeemable at any other retailer that sells Make Up For Ever products (including at Sephora) or online.
Purchases will be deducted from the Gift Card until the value reaches zero. The Gift Card may not be used or redeemed with certain promotional offers and may not be applied as payment on any account.
If the amount of your purchase exceeds the value of your Gift Card, you must pay the difference in cash or via credit card.
